How can I use Photoshop?
With Photoshop, you can edit and alter photos in a myriad of ways. The program is both powerful and user-friendly, and very beginner-friendly.
Photoshop is available in three different versions, and each version has its own benefits. Photoshop CS and CS2 are desktop versions, while Photoshop Elements is a more stripped-down, less powerful version of Photoshop. Adobe hasn’t released a Photoshop version for the iPad or Android tablets, so you can use Photoshop only in a non-desktop environment.

If you’re learning to use Photoshop CS or Photoshop Elements CS, you’ll be using layers, pixels, and masks. These three terms are what you’ll be using in Photoshop when you start creating your edits, so it’s a good idea to know what they are.
Layers are used to group raster images, or bitmap images, into one single image. Layers are made up of pixels, and pixels are the individual components of the images. When a layer is placed over another layer, the pixels of that new layer will become visible as part of the new layer.
As an example, consider the following image. The photo is of a man taking a picture of the moon. He keeps changing his exposure. Because he’s changing the exposure, the man’s face blurs, and the moon looks as if it’s out of focus. If he were to separate his face and the moon into separate layers, you can easily see that he’s composed the image and that he would be able to focus on the moon without losing his face.
Adobe introduced layers into Photoshop in 1989, and they have been a huge boon in graphics design ever since.
Layers are what separates Photoshop from other graphic design programs. You’ll be using layers quite a bit while editing, so it’s important to understand them.
A pixel is the smallest element of an image. There are two types of pixels: the transparent and the opaque.

For the purposes of this tutorial we will be using the photo editing software.
• Before following this tutorial, you will need to have a working internet connection. We also recommend that you have a printer and paper for the installation.
• You will need to have the Microsoft Windows 8, 8.1 or Windows 10 operating system.
• You will also need Adobe Photoshop Elements 10.0 or higher.
• We will be using the Windows version of the program.
1. Download the software.
Use this link to download the Adobe Photoshop Elements application and Unzip the software. It will be located in the folder where you downloaded the program.
2. Run the installation process.
After extracting the program to your folder it will open Photoshop Elements. Click on Yes in the first prompt on the software installation.
3. Add shortcuts for Photoshop Elements to your desktop.
Double click on the Photoshop shortcut to launch the application. You need to add a shortcut to the program folder. Go to File and then select import and add shortcuts.
4. Unlock the program.
Go to the user properties and select apply. The password is the same as the one you are using to log in the computer.
5. Create a new document.
Open a new document. The size is minimal. I have chosen 300 pixels by 300 pixels. You can change the size and resolution.
6. Fill the space with black.
Click on the paintbrush tool and click in the photo. Fill the space with white.
7. Change the image colors.
Click on the Hue/Saturation tool. We can use this tool to change the colors of the image. Increase the intensity of the green color by dragging the slider on the left.
Go to the color panel and you can change the colors of the photo.
8. Resize the canvas.
Click on the small white rectangle in the upper-left corner and drag to the desired size. You can use the number keys on your keyboard to resized the photo.
9. Remove unwanted objects.
If there is something visible that is not part of the photo, use the eraser tool.
10. Create a simple composition.
Click on the arrow in the top-right corner and select add/remove objects. Select the photo and move the cursor over the image and click on
Why isn’t the camera lens hole so perfectly round?
I thought that the hole on the front of the camera lens is round, but it’s more of a semi-circle, which is not round. I have not taken a photo with the lens already in it; therefore, I can’t say what it looks like when the lens is in the camera. The photo below is a picture of the hole, it’s the same on most of the cameras I have seen. The camera I have (E-M1) is brand new. I know the lens with the red mark on it is just a test lens and is not actually in the camera yet. (When the lens is in the camera, it has a white line on it, the line is not on the test lens, which is why it is in the red circle.)
Why is the hole in the front of the camera lens so much more round or semi-round? I mean, does the camera lens actually go all the way through the camera, or does it come through the back of the camera?
It is a semi-circle, but it would appear to have been made to be round.
You are probably seeing the aberrations of a lens mounted with a slightly off-axis position of the front element (ie, it is not parallel to the optical axis).
Normally one would correct this with an additional lens element in front of the main lens, but the lens in the test image is the “kit lens”, so it is correcting the aberrations already.
We may never know the actual design of the front element, but I assume it was made in one piece to minimise shipping and handling costs.

1. Field of the Invention
